I'm sure that we could probably list a dozen or so more reasons why video Matters. Why does it matter to your business?
Reasons Why You Are Not Creating Videos
1. Fear of Judgment: People often worry about how they will be perceived by others, fearing criticism about their appearance, voice, or content.
- Solution: Focus on Serving - John Maxwell frequently emphasizes that leadership and influence come from a genuine desire to serve and add value to others. When you shift your focus from worrying about how you'll be judged to how you can help your audience, the fear diminishes.
2. Perfectionism: "I'm guilty of this one". Many individuals feel they need to be perfect before they can record a video, leading to procrastination or avoidance.
- Solution: Fail Forward and Embrace Imperfection - John Maxwell is well-known for his concept of "failing forward," which means using failure as a stepping stone to success. He encourages people to see mistakes and criticism not as setbacks but as opportunities for growth.
3. Lack of Experience or Know How: For those who are not used to being on camera, the process can feel foreign and uncomfortable. The lack of experience can lead to self-doubt and anxiety.
- Solution: Continual Learning - It's important to cultivate a growth mindset, which involves continuously learning and developing yourself.
4. Lack of Content Ideas: Many individuals worry about not having sufficient engaging content to share with their audience.
- Solution: Learn and Share - I love the concept of creating videos based on what I am learning. You can also use tools like ChatGPT to help you come up with content ideas. Here's a custom GPT that I created to assist you. https://chatgpt.com/g/g-GnuAUW9e9-short-video-script-creator

As the Coach's Tech Guy, It's my responsiblility to share some tools to assist your video creation.
1. AI (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude.ai)
There are lots of prompts available. You can start with something as simple as
"Can you write a script based on the topic that I will provide? Ask me for the topic."
This custom GPT will help you https://chatgpt.com/g/g-GnuAUW9e9-short-video-script-creator
2. Teleprompters
My favorite Online Teleprompter is BigVu (Try it for free)
Keep in mind to keep it conversational and not robotic while reading from the teleprompter. Here's a great video from the amazing speech coach Nausheen I. Chen explaining how to do this. She's one of the best on camera that I have seen in a long time.
3. Descript - Video Editor
Descript is a great video editor that allows you to edit the videos by simply removing text. I prefer not to edit my videos, however there are times when it's needed.
I don't want to over do it with the tools so I will stop with 3.
Incorporating video into your business strategy can significantly boost your coaching business. Overcome the common barriers, use the right tools, and start engaging with your audience in a more dynamic and impactful way.
